Tasting notes:This is also quite ripe with an earthy and somber dark berry fruit nose of primarily blue pinot fruit and lovely violet aromas that sit atop warm earth suffused medium-bodied flavors that also possess excellent mid-palate concentration, fine complexity and much better than average length. Like the BGO, this is not an especially elegant wine but then again, one doesn’t really look for elegance and refinement from a Côte de Nuits-Villages. Worth a look. (87-89)/2012+ Allen Meadows

This is an exemplary Cotes de Nuit Villages from Mr. Clark. A little more breeding on the nose compared to the Bourgogne Rouge with a tinny element. The palate is clean, pure, rounded, again with a touch of new oak smoothing off the edges. Lush strawberry and raspberry towards the finish. Very fine. Drink now-2013. Tasted January 2009. Neal Martin

Fine and well sculpted and sweet and charming. You could never hate this - and look at the price! Fine tannins and lots of richness even if in a minor key. Beautifully done within the confines of the appellation. 16.5+ Jancis Robinson MW

The wine displays vibrant red fruit with. The palate, pure and intense, offers some wild berry fruit and a fine balance, a very harmonious wine. From 2010 ****Decanter Magazine

From this Morey-based domaine, a good-value Côte de Nuits-Villages. Aromatic, spicy, fresh nose leads into an easy mid-weight palate of minerals and liquorice. Crisp and clean, with a long, perfumed finish. Drink 2010-1016 *** Beverley Blanning MW
