We believe that low yields are essential to produce a great red wine. Yields are controlled by spur pruning, spring de-budding, and a time-consuming green harvest. This leaves a maximum of 5 bunches per vine.

Our average yields were:

  • 23hl/ha in 2004
  • 27hl/ha in 2005
  • 30hl/ha in 2006
  • 27hl/ha in 2007
  • 25hl/ha in 2008
Compare these to the permitted levels of 35hl/ha for the Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits and 48hl/ha for the village appellations.
